Keith Tutt II is an award-winning producer, composer, and cellist. His musical journey began at the age of four, and by seven, he was studying with National Cello Institute founder Richard Mooney. Over the years, he expanded his expertise to multiple instruments, programming, and production, collaborating with critically acclaimed artists across a wide range of genres, such as Metroboomin, Solange, PNAU, and Sean Mendes. His string arrangements have been featured on Grammy-winning albums, and his production work has earned numerous accolades.

As an artist, Keith creates immersive live experiences. One of these, A Wander, Through the Trees, was a real-time composition experience held within A Forest for the Trees (www.keithtuttii.com/forest)—an expansive, multi-sensory art installation in downtown Los Angeles created by Glenn Kaino and Dave Sitek. His performance merged live cello and electronic soundscapes, creating an atmospheric journey inspired by the exhibit’s rhythm and energy.

In 2024, Keith spent time in Dakar, as the first musician selected for the fourth-year artist-in-residence program at Black Rock Senegal (www.blackrocksenegal.org), an international residency founded by Kehinde Wiley. While there, he explored the deep connections within the African diaspora through music—examining the shared language, instruments, and sonic ideas that transcend borders and cultures. Immersed in a global community of creators, he engaged in artistic exchange that broadened his perspective and deepened his practice. His residency culminated in an exhibition where he showcased his work alongside fellow artists, further expanding his artistic vision.
