// A Forest For the Trees //
The marriage of music and nature is a beautiful union that has long been celebrated in art and culture. From the stirring sounds of birds singing in the trees, to the soothing rush of a waterfall, the natural world is full of musical inspiration.
The cello is an instrument that is often associated with nature, perhaps due to its rich, resonant sound that can evoke images of the natural world. The cello's deep, mellow tones have been compared to the soothing rush of a waterfall or the gentle rustling of leaves in the wind. In many ways, the cello's sound is perfectly suited to capturing the beauty and majesty of nature, which makes it an ideal instrument for compositions inspired by the outdoors.
Keith Tutt II is an artist whose music blends elements of acoustic and electronic music. His ambient concerts offer a unique experience, as he creates aural landscapes that are both tranquil and engaging.
In an amazing hour and ten-minute experience, Keith took us on a real-time composition experience he called "a Wander, Through the Trees." The backdrop was beyond fitting with artwork from the duo HighSeas (Award winning Glenn Kaino x Dave Sitek) in an immersive exhibit called A Forest for the Trees, which was a secret forest of magic, music, and wonder—with captivating illusions of fire that you can control with your hands, trees you can talk to, water you could walk on, and multisensory storytelling, all hidden within a 28,000-square-foot space in downtown Los Angeles. Born from an extensive collaboration with Atlantic journalists, tribal leaders, and environmental scientists, and a talented team of artists, A Forest for the Trees was an unforgettable immersive experience. https://www.aforestla.com/
